Dear Supporter,
We are working on our Youth Center with the Egyesek Youth Association in Szécsény, Nógrád county, which will provide a community space for local young people.
After a long planning process, in spring 2024 we managed to buy a property in Szécsény, the local, former disco called Flört. The disco building will be transformed into a youth center, filled with new experiences.
Since we got the keys in our hands, we have started the renovation with great enthusiasm. Local and international volunteers, the Egyesek Nógrád team and several times us, the Budapest team, have been working on it already for months.
The jungle became a garden.
The house has become an increasingly usable space that has already hosted two events with the active collaboration of local and international young people.
However, there is a lot of work that needs professional work. These include replacing roofs, repairing lintels, etc.
We are raising funds to pay the professionals and the cost of materials.
The Youth Center will be a community space where the local young people will:
- develop cooperation and responsibility
- train in different fields (English language, arts, etc.)
- meet informally and recharge
- be safe
- discover new things
- participate in creative processes
- experience the power of community cohesion
- always feel at home

The performing world music choir, of which I am also a member, will be the Tarka Kórus, directed by Oláh Annamária. The event may also include other surprises (performers, food and drink, creative works). I will keep you informed about the details and the event in time.
