Keys in your hand

Our goal is to empower young people with fewer opportunities to become more open to the world and their fellow human beings, and to recognize that they can also do something for others.

Completed

The "KOOLcs in Your Hands!" project aims to reduce social isolation, increase initiative and responsibility among young people living in the Bokréta Residential Home. During the program, they will implement volunteer programs together with students from 3 Budapest high schools, which will facilitate understanding and experience exchange between young people from different social backgrounds.

The programs were selected based on prior consultation with the young people, keeping in mind the principle of gradualness:

  • Action at an animal shelter
  • Joint gift making for other disadvantaged young people
  • Visit to a children's hospital, playroom and gift giving to sick children

The young people independently plan the steps of the process from the birth of the idea to the implementation of the program, and organize the teamwork, which is then evaluated together after the program. It is also important to develop the young people's creativity and digital competence, for which we provide quality tools and organize professional workshops. This way, the young people will be able to document and share the programs at a high level.

Throughout the project, the staff of the Egyesek Youth Association; youth workers, psychologists, sociologists and international volunteers support the participants.

The project was financed by Raiffeisen Bank in the frame of "Közösen (Together)" programme.
