Groupleaders wanted!

Try yourself out in leading a group and help make EuroDance an unforgettable experience.

Apply now!

We are looking for enthusiastic young people who would like to try their hand at leading a group in one of Egyesek's youth exchanges.

Youth exchanges...?

Youth exchanges are 10 to 12-day-long activities where young people from 6-8 countries come together to learn about each other, different cultures, teamwork, communication and a variety of topics and challenges in an international community that can lead to long-lasting friendships and life-changing moments.

This call is for groupleaders of EuroDance, a new youth exchange of Egyesek, focusing on experience reconnecting with yourself and others through movement and dance. The youth exchange will take place in Hollókő, Hungary, from the 19th to the 29th of May, 2026.

Leading a group...?

Our youth exchanges involve 4 young people (aged 16-23) and 1 groupleader from each country. The groupleader works with the organisers before, during and after the exchange to ensure that the participants have the most special experience possible.

Before the youth exchange, a Preparatory Visit takes place in person, where the groupleaders and organisers meet in Hollókő to get to know the location and each other. They learn more about the program and the art of leading groups. For EuroDance, this Preparatory Visit will be organised between the 6th and 8th of March, 2026.

During the youth exchange, the groupleader is the safe point for their national team. You can practice how to create a safe and brave environment for other young people in a supportive role, empower them to solve their own problems and deal with all the different experiences. You can also practice the art of conversation and reflection almost every day - you can lead small reflection groups during the programme.

After the youth exchange, you are welcome to bring together your national group once again, help them reflect on the youth exchange and draw lessons from it.

Why is it worth it?

  • gain relevant professional experience on how to effectively lead and support small, international teams,
  • practice your role as a leader, reflection facilitator and supporter,
  • learn about and experience how we organise high-quality youth exchanges at Egyesek.

This call is for you, if you...

  • are between 18-30 years old,
  • have a good level of English,
  • have been on an Erasmus+ program before,
  • like the topic of the youth exchange, which is dance and movement,
  • are available to join in Hollókő the Preparatory Visit (6-8 March) and the youth exchange (19-29 May),
  • and would like to help young people to integrate, communicate and learn.

We recommend this opportunity, if you...

  • would like to organise and lead youth exchanges in the future,
  • are interested in helping, teaching, supporting and mentoring other young people,
  • have already been on a youth exchange,
  • and are ready to take the next step.

Application process

  1. Read the call and the Infopack of the youth exchange carefully.
  2. Fill out the application form by the 12th of February.
  3. Wait for our colleagues to contact you, and join a short call to meet with an organiser of the youth exchange.
  4. If you are selected, you will get all the practical information about the next steps.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I count this as my mandatory intership or community service hours?

Yes, based on an agreement, we are happy to support you in counting the hours you spend on the youth exchange as internship or community service.

Can I apply, if I haven't been on an Erasmus+ project before?

If you have any relevant experience in organising youth camps or events, or if you have experience with leading groups, you can send your application.

Can I go to more than one programme as a group leader?

Yes, you can indicate in the application form that you are interested in going to more than youth exchange as a group leader. If you write this in the Additional comment section, we will get in touch with you directly. If you check our "Level Up" opportunities, you can also see the current opportunities we have for group leaders.

Can I apply to be a group leader abroad?

We are primarily looking for group leaders for our own programmes, but if we are looking for a group leader for a youth exchange abroad, we will first ask those who have already been group leaders for a youth exchange in one of our programmes.

Are there any costs of this program?

To participate in the program, we ask for 40 € as a contribution. Other than this, the travel, accommodation and program costs are all covered for both the preparatory visit and the youth exchange itself.
