Young people want to build their own community! A community that will stand up for them, support them, and help them have new experiences and exciting stories to tell. In Nógrád county and in the Szécsény region, their situation is getting more and more difficult, we often hear that there are no opportunities for them which will help them grow and develop their true best self.
We aim to create a community space where their dreams and desires can become reality.

For 12 years we have been carrying out youth work in the Szécsény region in cooperation with international volunteers. Every year, we provide various English-language skill-building and community development sessions to around 200-300 local children and young people. The new community space is a huge opportunity for our activities, but renovating the property is quite a challenge as it requires more resources than we have. We bought the property, which used to be a disco, for 37.000 EUR and we need another 25.000EUR donation, of which 5.500EUR we’d like to raise with this campaign. The donations will be used for the following expert work:
- demolition of roof and roof structure - 3.138 EUR
- construction of new roof, replacement (single covering with side-hooked concrete tiles) - 15.359 EUR
- replacement of eaves, drains and gutters - 3.868 EUR
- masonry works (replacement of bad bridges and complete plastering) - 2.815 EUR
Our staff, volunteers and local youth have already thrown themselves into the renovation, but there is still a lot to do before the planned opening in October.

- 112 EUR - Complete replacement of 1 window lintel
