Napkerék Egyesület is a Hungarian non-profit organisation founded in 2003 and based in Kaposvár, dedicated to promoting social inclusion, equal opportunities, and intercultural dialogue. With a strong focus on supporting Roma communities and other disadvantaged groups, the organisation creates safe, empowering spaces where diversity is valued, and individual potential can flourish through community engagement and inclusive initiatives. At the core of its work are community-based educational and after-school programmes that provide academic support, skills development, mentoring, and creative activities for children and young people. Through cultural initiatives and community events, Napkerék fosters confidence, strengthens identity, encourages active citizenship, and builds meaningful connections that promote solidarity and intercultural exchange.
Volunteering
Join us for an unforgettable summer in Kaposvár! After an onboarding this workcamp will be divided into two exciting stages: the first week in Kaposvár, followed by a second week at Lake Balaton, where the children will enjoy a summer experience by Hungary’s most iconic lake. As a volunteer, you will take part in dynamic, hands-on activities that celebrate cultural exchange and global diversity. Share your country’s songs, dances, games, traditions, and even cuisine, while supporting the children’s English language development in a fun and interactive way. Activities include music, sports, arts and crafts, creative workshops, and outdoor games, all designed to boost confidence and curiosity about the world. Together, we aim to create a safe, joyful, and inspiring environment where children can learn, play, and grow, and discover just how exciting and culturally diverse the world can be.
Accommodation and Food
The project is co-funded by the European Union through the European Solidarity Corps program. There is no participation fee, and all volunteers will be accommodated in shared rooms in a fully equipped accommodation. Cold food will be provided for breakfast, and hot meals for lunch and dinner. Volunteers will need to co-prepare the food using the ingredients provided by the organization. Vegetarian, gluten and lactose-free options will be available. Each volunteer will also receive €7 per day as pocket money. Travel costs to the project location will be reimbursed based on the distance traveled after participation. All necessary equipment for the tasks will be provided.
