Partner
The Via-Viridis Association operates the Swallow Nest after-school (Fecskefészek Tanoda) in Pilisvörösvár, which has been welcoming local children since 2014. The program works with young people aged 7–16 who may struggle in the school system or come from disadvantaged backgrounds. The aim is not only to support their academic progress, but also to help develop their social skills, build their self-confidence, and enable them to find their place in the world more easily in the long term. The study hall runs activities five days a week, currently involving around 30 children.

Volunteering
Join an international team of volunteers and help make the Fecskefészek Tanoda’s summer camp in Balatonszemes a reality for disadvantaged children! We are looking for young foreigners based in Hungary who would like to become part of an international team and actively contribute to creating meaningful summer experiences for the children. Your role will include accompanying the children on July 10 from Pilisvörösvár to Balatonszemes, and then taking part in the camp’s daily activities over the three days. This involves playing with the children, connecting with them, supporting experiential learning sessions, and helping create a safe, joyful, and supportive atmosphere. At the end of the camp, on July 13, we also count on your help in accompanying the children back home. Before the camp, there will be a preparation day in June where we will get to know each other and go through the program, roles, and tasks in detail.

Participants
We are looking for volunteers living in Hungary who are open-minded, patient, and enjoy working with children. It is important that you can easily connect with different age groups, from younger children to teenagers, and that you are comfortable working in a team. Communication goes beyond words; non-verbal communication and attentiveness are just as important.

Accommodation and Meals
Accommodation will be provided in the "Sport Holiday Resort" in Balatonszemes, where volunteers will stay in shared, multi-bed rooms in the same location as the children. Each room has its own bathroom and shower. Five meals per day (breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks) are provided, vegeterian food will be available. The accommodation is located just a 10-minute walk from the beach and includes access to sports facilities, a football field, and a swimming pool.

Location and Free Time
Balatonszemes is one of the most welcoming and charming towns on the southern shore of Lake Balaton, where a calm lakeside atmosphere meets vibrant summer life. With its wide beaches, pleasant promenades, and family-friendly environment, it is an attractive destination for all ages. The proximity of the lake and the stunning sunsets make every day spent here a special experience.

Requirements
There are no specific language requirements; however, English will be the working language among international volunteers. Communication with local staff will be possible in either Hungarian or English.
