What is the ESC Alumni Club?

The ESC Alumni brings together former volunteers and participants of the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) with a dual mission:

  • Community building among returned volunteers through regular monthly meet-ups,
  • Promoting the culture of volunteering and raising awareness of the opportunities offered by the ESC.

The ESC Alumni Club is run by a dedicated team of volunteers who organize alumni meet-ups, participate in volunteer training and team-building events, and promote ESC opportunities. The network operates with the support of the Tempus Public Foundation (National Agency in Hungary) and Egyesek Youth Association.

Why become an Ambassador?

  • Help develop the culture of volunteering and improve the perception of international volunteering.
  • Share your personal journey and experiences with young people, inspiring them to volunteer (e.g., in high schools, universities, or workplaces).
  • Improve your public speaking and argumentation skills (e.g., how to explain why volunteering is valuable and not a waste of time).
  • Be part of an amazing community!

What does it mean to be an Ambassador?

  • Participate in at least 2-3 ESC Alumni Meet-ups per year and share your experiences with fellow ambassadors.
  • Attend one of the biannual Ambassador Training.
  • Visit at least one institution (e.g., former high school/university) and deliver a presentation alone or with another ambassador.
  • Share institutional or personal contacts where ESC presentations could be organized.

What are the topics of the Ambassador Training?

  • How to talk about international volunteering in an engaging and inspiring way (storytelling).
  • How to present the ESC program effectively to different audiences (high school students, university students, recent graduates, adults, parents).
  • How to counter common misconceptions about volunteering (e.g., "volunteering is a waste of time").
  • How to use non-formal education methods to create an engaging experience about volunteering.

We invite you to join our demo training and become part of the next generation of ESC Alumni Ambassadors!
