From May 2 to 4, the village of Hollókő hosted Dino Camp — a special event celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Youth Association Egyesek. The camp took place at Creative Space, opened in 2010, which has become a key place for the organization. It brought together former members, current staff, volunteers, interns, and many others who have supported Egyesek over the years.
This event was not only about looking back, but also about connecting with each other and thinking about the future. During three sunny days, participants joined different activities that helped us get to know each other better — from games and meals to personal talks and shared moments.
For the communications team one of the highlights was a group hike along the National Blue Trail to a lookout point. The walk was a bit challenging, but we supported each other and made it together. Reaching the top felt like a small victory, just like the journey of Egyesek over the past 25 years. After the hike, we prepared and enjoyed a traditional Hungarian dinner: gulyás cooked over a fire. Sitting together, eating, laughing — it felt warm and familiar.
For our communications department, this camp was also a very useful and productive time. We had the chance to hold a creative brainstorming session, exchange feedback, and look at our content from new perspectives. It gave us fresh energy and new ideas for how to communicate the values and stories of Egyesek even better.
Later that evening, we had the chance to look at the stars, planets, and distant galaxies. It was a peaceful and beautiful moment, and a nice reminder that Egyesek always looks forward and reaches beyond.
On the second day, we focused on the future of the organization. We shared ideas about how to improve the Youth Center and talked about plans for its renovation. The goal is to make it a more attractive, welcoming, and practical place for future training sessions, youth exchanges, and work camps. These conversations were honest and important, helping to plan the next steps. The camp ended with the General Assembly, where we looked back on the last year, shared thoughts, and made decisions together.
As a communications intern, Dino Camp was a very meaningful experience. It showed me what Egyesek is really about — people, values, and making a difference. I feel it is just the beginning of many exciting new projects.
