Volunteering abroad
Would you like to gain experiences and make new friends abroad? Do you want to try something new and challenge yourself? Step out of your comfort zone and grow? See the world while volunteering to help others?
The International Volunteer Service (IVS) and the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) both offer organized, safe opportunities for this!
The International Volunteer Service (IVS) is available from the age of 14-15, with no upper age limit, and our partner network offers short-term volunteer camps (workcamps) in nearly 60 countries worldwide, ranging from 1 to 3 weeks. The European Solidarity Corps (ESC) is a volunteer program by the European Commission, where young people aged 18-30 can join civil, non-profit, or public organizations in an European country for 2-3 week camps or 2-12 months of individual volunteering.
International Volunteer Service
The IVS is a great opportunity to explore the world as a volunteer! You can take part in camps where you'll work alongside local communities, whether it's with children, animals, environmental protection, or even organizing festivals. Not only will you be helping, but you'll also be part of a vibrant, international team and learn a lot about other cultures! You'll need to cover your travel expenses, while the hosting organization provides accommodation and meals.
European Solidarity Corps
The ESC is a free program that allows you to volunteer abroad or in your home country for up to 12 months, participating in both short/group and longer/individual programs. The EU funds accommodation, meal contributions, pocket money, and insurance, and even reimburses travel expenses. Throughout the experience, you'll receive plenty of support (coordinator, mentor, sending organization) to help you integrate easily, grow, and make a real impact on the community!
What does it offer if you volunteer abroad?
Volunteering teaches you how to help others, fosters selflessness, and makes you more open to understanding the world. You become more flexible while expanding your comfort zone.
Volunteering abroad is not just about the work you do: it gives you confidence, as it teaches you that you are capable of stepping out of your comfort zone and solving challenges on your own.
Volunteering intensively develops your communication and English language skills, as you often have to speak in a foreign language. By the end of your volunteering experience, you will confidently be able to speak anywhere and with anyone in the world.
You can build international connections, which can even lead to lifelong friendships. The diverse volunteer team and the opportunity to learn about different cultures make you more open-minded, while you gain valuable knowledge that you would never learn from textbooks.
During your volunteering experience, you can go on lifelong adventures that you will happily look back on many years later, as they shape your personality and enrich your life.
At the end of your volunteering experience, you will receive a certificate or Youthpass, which validates your international experience and makes your resume more valuable in the job market.

What makes this different from other programs?
What do our returning volunteers say?
Volunteering has given me friends, emotions, and new skills, and I have grown a lot as well. The word "thank you" is not enough to express how I feel. I advise everyone not to miss out on such an adventure.
This project was one of the best experiences of my life. Professionally, I learned a lot about working with children. I highly recommend it to everyone!
I feel that this program fundamentally changed me as a person, and when I talked to the other volunteers in the project, as well as those who had participated in previous projects, I found out that the same thing happened to everyone else who took part in this program.
This was my first volunteering experience, and I'm very happy that I had the opportunity to participate in it. I learned a lot about other cultures, solidarity, and empathy, while facing challenges and being full of energy. "Egyesek" is a reliable and helpful sending organization that dedicates a lot of time and energy to preparing its volunteers.
