Dear Mentors, future Mentors, and Youth Workers involved in hosting volunteers in the framework of the European Solidarity Corps!
Egyesek Youth Association part of an exciting KA2 project "CLIC: Coordinating Locally to Initiate More changes with the European Solidarity Corps" is working with partner organisations from 9 countries to strengthen the key role of support organisations, develop mentoring practices and increase the impact of volunteer mini-projects.
The idea behind this is to offer an accessible and swift training opportunity to people who may face a lack of time or availability to join longer training. It is nevertheless also a clear invitation to start a learning process along which one, only, the competencies of a mentor can be revealed and developed.
In 2023, we organised focus group discussions with nearly 100 mentors, and based on this, we developed a one-day training theme with key objectives:
- Clarify the role of a mentor and become aware of the scope of mentoring
- Provide space and opportunity for networking and initiate peer-to-peer support
- Equip mentors for supporting ESC volunteers and becoming aware of their individual “points of attention”: creating awareness, providing advice, and references
- Have a better understanding of support measures/resources and administrative aspects
- Motivate mentors to continue to train themselves and look for learning opportunities regarding their needs
We invite you to the demo training of this project now!
Details of the training:
- Date: 16 November 2024, Saturday 10.00 - 18.00
- Location: downtown Budapest (could be the Egyesek office)
- Meals: lunch, snacks and coffee will be provided during the program
Please apply by 4 November and later we will send more information.
We look forward to meeting you and exchanging experiences!
