Groupleaders wanted!

Try out yourself in leading a group and help make a youth exchange an unforgettable experience.

Apply now!

We are looking for enthusiastic young people who would like to try their hand at leading a group in one of Egyesek's youth exchanges.

Youth exchanges...?

Youth exchanges are 10-12 day summer programmes where young people from 6-8 countries come together to learn about each other, different cultures, teamwork, communication and a variety of topics and challenges in an international community that can lead to life-changing friendships and life-changing moments.

We are currently organising two youth exchanges:

Glee It Up!
Preparatory visit: 28th February - 2nd March 2025
Youth exchange: 20-30 May 2025

A youth exchange on performing arts, where we will take young people into the worlds of storytelling, music, movement and theatre - supporting them to create their own performances by the end of the programme. The programme will bring out the performers in all of us.

DreamShapers 5.0
Preparatory visit: 4-6 April 2025
Youth exchange: 9-21 July 2025

For the fifth edition, this programme will focus on entrepreneurship and different skills. We will explore our strengths, what we can do, how we can work in a team, find resources, solve problems and turn ideas into tangible results.

Leading a group...?

Our youth exchanges involve 4 young people (aged 16-23) and a group leader from each country. The group leader works with the organisers before, during and after the exchange to ensure that the participants have the most special experience possible.

Before the Youth Exchange, there is a Preparatory Visit, a weekend where the group leaders and organisers meet in Hollókő to get to know the location, and each other, and learn more about the programme and the art of leading groups. You can also learn how to prepare the Hungarian team and what information you need to pass on to the other Hungarian participants.

During the youth exchange, the group leader is the safe point for his/her national team. You can practise how to create a safe environment for other young people in a supportive and helping role, help them to solve their own problems and of course deal with all the different experiences. You can also practise the art of conversation and reflection almost every day - you can lead small reflection groups during the programme.

After the youth exchange, you can work together with the organizers of Egyesek to bring the Hungarian team together once again, help them reflect on the youth exchange and draw lessons from it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I count this as my mandatory intership or community service hours?

Yes, based on an agreement, we are happy to support you in counting the hours you spend on the youth exchange as internship or community service.

Can I apply, if I haven't been on an Erasmus+ project before?

If you have any relevant experience in organising youth camps or events, or if you have experience with leading groups, you can send your application.

Can I decide which programme I go to as a group leader?

Yes, on the application form you can choose which youth exchange you are most interested in.

Can I apply to be a group leader abroad?

We are primarily looking for group leaders for our own programmes, but if we are looking for a group leader for a youth exchange abroad, we will first ask those who have already been group leaders for a youth exchange in one of our programmes.

Are there any costs of this program?

To participate in the program, we ask for 40 € as a contribution. Other than this, the travel, accommodation and program costs are all covered for both the Preparatory visit and the youth exchange itself.
