Great to be Green with EFOTT
Hungary’s biggest university party is waiting for you again, where you can be one of the volunteers and enjoy the best of both worlds at the festival!
Festival Volunteer Center organize volunteer programs for the biggest festivals in Hungary. They work with volunteers, with more than 1500+ per year in around 100 possible workplaces at all the festivals which is organized by Sziget Zrt. Over the past 10 years, they have built up a system and shaped it to its present form, which makes it possible for enthusiastic and help-offering volunteers to evolve, for festivals to find motivated workforce, and the joint work ensures countless future opportunities for all parties. They are shaping this process by making use of the diverse, creative, improvisatory ideas from all the participants year by year.
The main duty assigned to festival volunteers is to ensure the cleanliness of the festival grounds by collecting litter, picking up garbage and ensuring that the surroundings are neat and tidy and with the help of you we can maintain a clean environment. By contributing to the event’s eco-friendly atmosphere, they are part of something pretty amazing. Volunteers will mainly be responsible for keeping the festival area clean in the morning, but they will have the opportunity to enjoy their well-deserved free time throughout the rest of the day. There will probably be around 150 volunteers from Hungary who will work with or near you.
Accommodation and food
You will have your own place at the staff camping but don’t forget to BRING YOUR OWN TENT! There is a shower in the camping. You can choose any kind of special food, we will try to make it. Please let us know as soon as you can. You will get one hot meal every day you work.
Location and leisure
The festival takes place in Sukoró, Hungary right next to lake Velence. Outside the 6 hours of work per day with your wristband you can enter the festival as much as you want, or dip in Lake Velence or make friends and just enjoy each other’s company.
The nearest airport is Budapest (BUD) in Hungary. To get to Sukoró from Budapest, you can start by taking the train to Kápolnásnyék and then transfer to a bus that will take you the rest of the way. Trains depart every hour from Budapest Déli station. We ask you to catch the train at the latest at 17.10 pm at Déli Station so the team can arrive around 7 pm at the festival location. It takes around 1,5 hours from the airport to the train station by bus, metro and metro.
If you become a volunteer of ours you will have to register on our website (where you will get your contract) and take part in a group Google Meet call. Once you arrive to the festival, you have to visit a doctor for a quick and free examination. Also, don’t forget to bring 22 000 HUF or 55 EUR deposit for the weekly ticket you’re going to get. This is a must, without the deposit you can not work with us. At the end of the festival, if you did not break the contract you are going to get your deposit back.
Unfortunately, we are only able to work with volunteers from the EEA countries.
Please book refundable plane tickets in case the workcamp needs to be cancelled. Also, we do not pay your travel expenses. For more information about the festival, visit their website: https://tickets.efott.hu/events/efott-2023
