CPI_SENEGAL – Fair Trade Camp
Work: During the workcamp, the volunteers will have the opportunity to take part in a training about fair trade commerce, workshops with local artisans, some agricultural work supporting the women of Dagga Dialaw village. The volunteers will also support the organisation of festival on the wonderful beach of Yoff (100 mt from the activity palce). It’s planned 1 free day for excursions to Goree Iland (Ile des eclaves, Unesco heritage). Tickets to Goree and museum (around 15 euro) are not included in the extra fee.
Accomodation and food: Volunteers will be hosted in the hostel of Jahkarlo in shared rooms (3-4 pax per room) with shared bathroom. A fully equipped kitchen is available. The food will be prepared by the staff of the local organisation Jahkarlo (with the possibilities to taste the traditional Senegalese food) but volunteer will also have the possibility to prepare international food. Blankets, sheets and mosquito net are provided in the hostel, you need to bring towels.
Location and leisure: Dakar – Senegal / Toubab Dialaw – Senegal (Toubab Dialaw is a village around 40 Kms from Dakar. Volunteers will have workshops in Toubab Dialaw during the day and will come back in Dakar in the evening. Some trainings activities will be held in Dakar.
Project hosted by: The workcamp is organized with: Karibuny, an Italian NGO that works in Senegal since 1999 in fair trade projects, Jahkarlo a Senegalese NGO that works in cultural activities and international cooperation projects and the support of “Ass. Botteghe Italia” (Italian Network of the World Fair Trade Shops)

Additional comments: YAP project-related motivation form is required. Volunteers should have a keen interest in fair trade issues.
Requirements: EXTRA FEE: 300 Euro (including transfer from/to airport, food, accommodation, local transport from Dakar to Dagga Dialaw, local transports in Dakar) Free time activities not included.
